Marion County ballot

Shall the Marion County School District's one mill ad valorem millage be continued, beginning July 1, 2027, and ending June 30, 2031, for necessary operating expenses including safe schools, reading, physical education, art, music, early learning, library/media, and vocational programs; and retaining State Certified teachers and paraprofessionals with oversight of these expenditures by an independent citizens financial oversight committee?

To acquire and improve lands and conservation easements for parks, trails, and recreational facilities, preserve and protect natural lands, farms, forests, and quality of drinking water sources, springs, rivers and lakes, shall Marion County issue bonds up to $140 million principal amount, maturing within 20 years of each issuance, bearing interest not exceeding the maximum legal rate, payable from countywide ad valorem taxes not exceeding 0.35 mills, with full public disclosure of all spending?

Amending the charter by removing the requirement that the City Council appoint a Chief of Police and removing all references to powers and duties of the Chief and members of the police force. This amendment expressly requires that the City Council, by majority vote, provide for law enforcement as it determines to be in the best interests of the City.
