Gulf County offices
Florida's constitution has every county elect five officers of its own. Each is chosen by the whole county and runs a separate office. They do not vote together as a board; each one answers directly to voters.
- Mike Harrison
Sheriff
The county's chief law enforcement officer. Patrols areas outside city police jurisdiction and, in most counties, runs the jail.
- Mitch Burke
Property Appraiser
Sets the taxable value of every property in the county. That value, times the rates local boards adopt, makes up your property tax bill.
- Ashley Forehand
Tax Collector
Collects property taxes and issues vehicle tags and titles, and in many counties driver licenses.
- James "Matt" Terry
Clerk of the Circuit Court
Keeps court files and official records such as deeds and marriage licenses. In many counties also the county's auditor and treasurer.
- Rhonda H. Pierce
Supervisor of Elections
Registers voters, runs every election in the county and counts the ballots.
